About Our School |
Located on a quiet, 5-acre campus just north of Chiefland, NCMS is a free public school that is privately operated in order to provide small classes and innovative programs in the arts, sciences, and technology. We offer a caring, individualized approach to education with the most up-to-date curriculum and programs to help our students prepare for the challenges of high school and beyond.
We believe that an effective middle school environment it sensitive to the
unique developmental challenges of early adolescence.
Our program will focus on meeting the following seven needs of middle school
students:
· Positive
social interaction with adults and peers.
· Structure
and clear limits
· Physical
activity
· Creative
expression
· A
sense of competence and achievement
· Meaningful
participation in families and school
· Opportunities
for self-definition within a supportive community
We believe that all students should be taught to use their minds well and to
achieve high academic standards.
Our school provides an innovative educational program that stimulates their
interests, channels their energies, and develops their abilities.
We strive to be socially equitable, democratic, and fair.
Our goal is to provide every student with opportunities for success and personal
growth through a focus on individual needs within a supportive school
environment.
